No longer robots in disguise, Transformers: Tactical Arena lets players assemble a team of their favorite characters to battle in a real-time person-versus-person strategy game. They fight in an arena, with players sitting next to you — or around the world.

The game debuted Friday on Apple Arcade.

Go head to head in Transformers: Tactical Arena

In the new game, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream and other Transformers and Decepticons take each other on in a battle arena. Playing Transformers: Tactical Arena involves choosing major characters, structures and support units for each fight.

Over time, Transformers level up, and winning battles allows players to unlock new characters. The developer, Red Games, promises “dozens of familiar characters, powerful structures, and an arsenal of tactical support units at your disposal.” Plus, daily and weekly challenges should keep Transformers: Tactical Arena interesting.

Play PvP strategic battle games on Apple Arcade

Head over to the Apple Arcade section of the App Store to download and start playing Transformers: Tactical Arena.
You will find versions for iPhone, Mac, iPad and Apple TV. No matter the platform, you can use an external game controller.

Fans of PvP strategic battle games should also check out Lego Star Wars Battles, which debuted recently on Apple’s gaming service. A similar option is Lego Brawls.

Playing these, and any of the 200-plus other titles on the gaming service, requires a $4.99 per month Apple Arcade subscription. There are no additional costs, because Apple Arcade bans annoying things like ads, in-app purchases and loot boxes.
