Born in Philadelphia in 1968, Smith has become one of the world’s most successful actors since he burst onto TV screens in hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1990 — after he had made a name for himself in hip-hop.

Smith’s first major film roles were in Bad Boys in 1995, and in Independence Day a year later. He has since gone on to star in movies like Men in Black, Wild Wild West, Ali, Shark Tale and The Pursuit of Happiness.

Smith has been nominated for numerous Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, and Golden Globes. He has also picked up countless music awards, including Grammies for Parents Just Don’t Understand and Summertime.

“Grammy Award and four-time NAACP Image Award winner Will Smith is one of the most successful actors and entertainers of all time,” Apple said.
