Your iPhone charger doesn’t have to look like a charger when it’s off-duty. Twelve South launched its PowerPic Mod Wireless Charger on Wednesday. The Qi-enabled charging stand serves as a picture frame, with a detachable magnetic lucite frame that fits any 4 x 6 photo or graphic.

PowerPic Mod: Picture a Qi-enabled charger

You can position the frame vertically or horizontally. It charges any smartphone that supports Qi charging, plus devices like AirPods Pro. The Power Pic Mod requires a 20W USB-C power adapter for its own power, which is not included, so you’ll have to provide one yourself.

Like the previous model, the new PowerPic Mod conceals a wireless charger in a picture frame that makes a perfectly normal piece of home decor — where you just happen to rest your smart phone or other Qi-enabled gadget. It won’t look out of place on desks, bedside tables and kitchens countertops.

Charging speed

Note that your device, while charging, will at least partially block your view of the image in the frame.

And another item to consider is speed. Like a lot of third-party devices, PowerPic Mod’s power delivery maxes out at 7.5W for Apple devices. So it may not be your fastest charger. But it might be your best looking one.

You can get the product in White or Black colors on Twelve South’s website for $59.99.
