While late-model iPhones have impressive battery life, if you stream a lot of videos or use your handset as a hotspot for hours on end, you’ve probably seen dwindling power. But now you can extend the runtime of your MagSafe-capable iPhone 12 or 13 for up to 48 hours with a new battery pack called myCharge MagLock Superhero.

The MagLock Superhero battery packs, powered by lithium polymer batteries, attach magnetically to your iPhone 12 or 13 via magnets. That’s courtesy of Apple’s MagSafe technology, of course. As with any MagSafe accessory, the magnets provide precise alignment and firm attachment.

The battery packs work with phones without a case or those with a MagSafe-certified case. They don’t work with non-MagSafe cases.

The packs come in three capacities. The largest one, with an internal 90000mAh battery, adds 48 hours of runtime to your iPhone, according to myCharge. The middle-sized pack adds 32 hours of runtime via a 6000mAh battery and the smallest adds 16 hours with a 3000mAh battery.

5 colors

You can get any of the three devices in the five iPhone 12 colors, so they match your phone. The colors are graphite, Pacific blue, white, red and purple.

The battery packs’ finish protects against scratching, stains, and fading colors, the company said. A raised coil provides some separation between pack and phone, helping to dissipate heat better than typical flat battery packs.

Pricing and availability

You can pick up the 3000mAh battery pack for $49.99, the 6000mAh pack for $59.99 and the 9000mAh pack for $69.99. All colors and capacities are available at myCharge or Amazon.
