The Morning Show is back and you can cut the tension with a knife

The Morning Show was one of the big titles when Apple’s streaming video service arrived in November 2019. It was supposed to return in 2020 but was delayed by the pandemic.

It is set at a fictitious morning news program where there’s more going on behind the camera than in front of it. The upcoming episodes find the news team emerging from the wreckage of Alex (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley’s (Reese Witherspoon) actions in Season 1. There’s also a pandemic and a world in flux, where identity is
everything and the chasm between who we present and who we really are comes into play.

Along with Aniston and Witherspoon, the returning cast for Season 2 includes Steve Carell and Billy Crudup,.

The first season of The Morning Show became a critical hit. It earned Apple a slew of Emmy nominations. Jennifer Aniston earned a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Steve Carell, meanwhile, landed a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. And Billy Crudup scooped an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

The show will be back on Apple TV+ on Friday, September 17. Watching it will require a $4.99-per-month subscription fee.
