Anker’s first announced its new PowerWave Go 3-in-1 Stand for charging iPhones, Apple Watches and AirPods back in January. Well, it just came out. The cool wrinkle here is a removable power bank to charge devices on the go.

First things first, though. Despite its versatility, the new stand is neither compatible with iPhone 12 mini nor MagSafe-compatible in general. That differs from other recent releases like Mophie’s 3-in-1 MagSafe stand and even Anker’s own 2-in-1 magnetic stand.

A 5-foot USB-C to USB-C cable and a 45-watt version of Anker’s new ultra-compact Nano II GaN charger, both included, power the gray, hard-plastic docking station.

In fully assembled desktop mode, the PowerWave Go stand supplies up to 10 watts of charging power for a phone, though Apple limits non-MagSafe chargers to 7.5 watts with ‌iPhone‌s. The stand supplies 5 watts each to the ‌AirPods‌ and Apple Watch chargers.

Take power on the road

To hit the road with power to go, just pick up the removable power bank from the PowerWave Go’s base. It’s held in place by magnets and pin contacts. Detached from the base, the power bank supplies up to 10 watts of wireless power and up to 20 watts from a USB-C port.

To charge your Apple Watch on the go, just pop off the Apple Watch charging module from the base and stick it on the power bank’s USB-C port. A plastic cover protects the USB-C connector on the Apple Watch module.

Anker said the power bank holds up to 10,000 mAh of charge at 3.7 volts. That totals 37 Wh of energy, which is enough to fully charge most ‌iPhone‌ models two to four times.

Longterm freedom from the base

Because the Apple Watch charging module uses USB-C, you can also connect it to any USB-C power adapter or to a USB-C port on a computer. That means you don’t need the base or the power bank, necessarily.

But when you have power bank on the go, you can also charge it over USB-C. It’s not necessary to have the PowerWave Go base handy to recharge it. And passthrough charging allows you to wirelessly charge your phone while recharging the power bank.

Anker also noted the stand can charge through protective cases, up to 5mm thick, and is MFi-certified for safe Apple Watch charging.

You can pick it up the Anker PowerWave Go 3-in-1 Stand for $179.99.
