Last week Anker added the new Life P3 active-noise-cancelling (ANC) wireless earbuds to its Soundcore lineup — in an array of bright colors for an affordable price.

Seems like a lot of companies are upping their ANC, true-wireless earbud game.

The Soundcore Life P3 earbuds are an update to Anker’s Life P2 earbuds launched in 2019. The P3s have a new look and some new features that bring them in the direction of the more premium Anker Liberty Air 2 Pro earbuds, a direct competitor of Apple Aipods Pro.

But at about $80, the P3 earbuds are for folks who don’t need all the topshelf features.

The new earbuds borrow from the Liberty Air 2 Pro’s design. They’re stemmed earbuds with a circular charging case.

The big new feature of the P3 over the P2 is ANC. Various modes let you adjust for the types of ambient noise that might interfere with your listening. Six built-in mics help cancel noise during calls. And the Soundcore app lets you tweak your audio with an equalizer you can customize.

Color fiesta (or not)

Another prominent feature of the P3 is the wider color selection than the P2 earbuds had. The P3s come in navy blue, coral red, oat white, sky blue — or good old black.

If you don't covet the cute colors, you can always go with basic black.

Battery life

With Life P3 earbuds, you get about seven hours of playback before its time to slip the buds into their charging case. The charged case gives about 35 hours of listening time. When it’s time to charge the case, you can use a USB-C port or a Qi charger.

The earbuds IPX5-level water resistance. You can perspire all over them, but try not to submerge them in water.

Price: $79.99
