The Fox family’s adventures will continue in The Mosquito Coast on Apple TV+. The streaming service committed to second season on Wednesday.

The series is adapted from the best-seller by Paul Theroux, and the story isn’t anywhere near its conclusion in the final episode of season 1, which will premiere June 4.

The ongoing series tells the story of radical idealist and brilliant inventor, Allie Fox (Justin Theroux), who uproots his family for Mexico when they go on the run from the U.S. government.

“We can’t wait to find out what comes next for the Fox family, and for audiences to continue to experience the thrill ride,” said Matt Cherniss, Apple’s head of programming.

There’s no word on when season two will arrive on Apple TV+.

Mixed reactions to The Mosquito Coast

Cherniss says, the action adventure “has captured the imagination of viewers all over the world,” and it has an 81% audience approval rating on RottenTomatoes.

But critics have been more mixed. The Cult of Mac review of The Mosquito Coast calls it “paranoid, fraught and full of personality.” But the first season has only a 61% critics score from RottenTomatoes.

Watching The Mosquito Coast requires a $4.99-per-month subscription to Apple TV+. In addition to dramas like this one, the streaming service offers comedies, thrillers, children’s shows and documentaries.
