Stella Low is stepping into a position at Apple that’s been empty for years. She’s been named vice president of worldwide corporate communications. That puts her in charge of Apple’s public relations efforts.

She left Cisco to take the job with Apple.

Apple confirmed the change to BuzzFeed with a statement: “Stella brings her remarkable experience and leadership to Apple’s world-class communications teams. Apple has an important story to tell — from the transformative products and services we make, to the positive impacts we have on our communities and the world — and Stella is a great leader to help us write the next chapter.”

She says her role is to work with media, analysts, influencers, customers and employees

The executive has an impressive résumé. Before the move to Apple, Low was SVP and Chief Communications Officer at Cisco. Previously, she lead Global Communications at EMC.

Head of Apple corporate communications has been empty a long time

Low takes over after Steve Dowling left the position way back in 2019. At first, marketing boss Phil Schiller covered the role, and then later Greg “Joz” Joswiak.

Interestingly, the news comes on the exact 7-year anniversary of Katie Cotton leaving the post.
