Superstar Samuel L. Jackson will take the lead in The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, a limited series coming to Apple TV+. The show is being adapted from a novel about a dying man getting a revival of his youth.

Earlier in 2020, Jackson appeared in The Banker, the first movie on Apple TV+.

Samuel L. Jackson seems ideal to play Ptolemy Grey

Walter Mosley’s The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey is the tale of a 91 year old man suffering from dementia who takes an experimental drug that revives the clarity of his mind and energy of his body. But there’s an inescapable side effect: he won’t live to 92.

Mosley himself is adapting his novel to the screen in a six-episode series. Jackson will, of course, star as Ptolemy Grey.

Samuel L. Jackson has been appearing in films since the 1980s, and he was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Pulp Fiction. To younger viewers, he’s best known as Nick Fury in the Marvel films.

It is not known when The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey will premier on Apple TV+.

Apple’s streaming service recently passed its first birthday, and includes over 50 series and films, either available now or coming soon. There are thrillers, crime dramas, comedies and documentaries. It costs $4.99 a month.
