Apple’s hugely popular MacBook Air is now faster than 98% of all laptops, thanks to a brand-new M1 chip. The newest model, unveiled today during Apple’s “One More Thing” keynote, also features two times faster storage and vastly improved battery life.

What’s more, it’s the first MacBook Air that requires no fan, and it’s just as affordable as before. Order yours today!

MacBook Air is better than ever with M1

The MacBook Air used to be the Apple notebook you chose for basic computing tasks, like keeping on top of your email, consuming content, browsing the web, and light productivity. Now it’s the MacBook you can choose for almost anything.

Its new M1 chip makes the latest MacBook Air one of the fastest ultraportables money can buy. It looks identical to its predecessor on the outside, but it’s an entirely new animal under the hood.

“M1 is by far the most powerful chip we’ve ever created, and combined with Big Sur, delivers mind-blowing performance, extraordinary battery life, and access to more software and apps than ever before,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook.

M1 is the first Apple silicon chip, and it features an eight-core CPU that promises to be faster than rival laptop processors, and up to 3.5 times faster than the previous model. It also offers the fastest integrated GPU you’ll find anywhere on the market today.

Compared to its predecessor, the new MacBook Air can export an iMovie project up to three times faster, integrate 3D effects into video in Final Cut Pro up to five times faster, export photos from Lightroom up to two times faster, and play and edit multiple streams of 4K video simultaneously.

In other words, MacBook Air is better than ever. It’s also insanely efficient, with up to 15 hours battery life when browsing wirelessly, up to 18 hours battery life during video playback, and up to two times longer battery life when video conferencing.

Upgraders also get a better camera with improved noise reduction and sharper images, a P3 wide color Retina display, two times faster SSD storage, and best-in-class security with Touch ID. And the new MacBook Air does all this without a fan, so it’s completely silent when you use it.

The new MacBook Air will be available to order later today, starting at the same $999 as its predecessor. You can bag yours for just $899 if you qualify for Apple’s education discount.
