Coming soon to Apple’s streaming service are two animated shows for children. Doug Unplugs is from DreamWorks Animation and based on a successful book series about a young robot. And Stillwater, which is also based on a book series, stars a very wise giant panda.
Apple TV+ also revealed on Thursday that the second seasons of its children’s shows Ghostwriter and Helpsters will both premiere in October.
Young robot learns what it means to be human in Doug Unplugs
While other robots plug in for their daily download, curious Doug unplugs and journeys into the human world. With his best friend Emma, he experiences its wonders firsthand, and learns that there’s more to life than just the facts.
Doug Unplugs is based on Dan Yaccarino’s Doug Unplugged book series. It’ll debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, November 13.

Stillwater teaches kids to understand their feelings
Karl, Addy and Michael, are typical kids with typical kid challenges. Fortunately they have Stillwater, a wise panda as their neighbor. He gives them a deeper understanding of their feelings as well as tools that help them face their own day-to-day challenges. And opens their eyes to the quiet wonders of the world around them.
Based on the Scholastic book series Zen Shorts by Jon J Muth, the Apple TV+‘s Stillwater is also being produced by Scholastic. It’ll debut Friday, December 4.
Get ready for Ghostwriter and Helpsters second seasons
The first season of Ghostwriter won the Emmy for Outstanding Children’s or Family Viewing Programming. It also won the highly coveted Prix Jeunesse Award, a Parents’ Choice Gold Medal Award, and recognition from Common Sense Media.
It’s about a group of kids who solve mysteries with the help of a ghost. Set in a bookstore, the characters interact with great characters from literature brought to life, like Dr. Watson of Sherlock Holmes fame. The second season will premiere Friday, October 9.
And, in season two of Helpsters, preschoolers continue to explore the power of teamwork as puppets Cody, Scatter, Mr. Primm and Heart join a cadre of new celebrity and musical guests to solve problems. Guests will include Danny Trejo, Michael Ian Black, Janeane Garofalo, K. Flay, Norah Jones and many more. It’s premier date is Friday, October 16.
