Apple is turning Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi classic Foundation into a series. And today it released a “teaser” trailer full of stunning visuals to give the world its first glimpse of this epic.

Watch it now:

Beyond the visuals, the trailer includes showrunner and executive producer David S. Goyer giving a glimpse into the making of the upcoming saga.

For those unfamiliar with the highly acclaimed stories published in the 1940s, Apple says its show is “Based on the award-winning novels by Isaac Asimov, Foundation chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.”

Foundation debuts on Apple TV+ in 2021

Jared Harris will play Hari Seldon, a mathematical genius and head of the Foundation who predicts the fall of the Galactic Empire but creates a way to shorten the millennia of chaos that is sure to follow it.

Lee Pace will portray the Emperor of the Galaxy.

Apple revealed today that the show will launch on its streaming service in 2021. But the COVID-19 is causing challenges, as filming is on hiatus. When it’s going, Foundation is the largest studio production in the history of Ireland.
