Pricing on Apple’s expected 5G-ready iPhones will remain mostly the same, even though they are predicted to include OLED screens, according to a new report.

Front Page Tech analyst Jon Prosser tweeted Thursday base pricing on what Cult of Mac has reported as four new iPhone 12 models coming later this year.

Sources reportedly told Prosser the new base pricing of the four models will be:

  • 5.4-inch iPhone 12: $649
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12: $749
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro: $999
  • 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max: $1,099

Only one model appears to be going up in price, according to the report. The 6.1-inch iPhone 12 — which Prosser predicts is “a follow-up to the current $700 6.1-inch iPhone 11” — is reported to be slightly higher in base price at $749.

The price increase on the 6.1-inch model most likely is the result of a move to more-expensive OLED technology and the addition of a 5G antenna. Although all the models are reportedly moving to the newer technologies, it is unknown exactly why the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 would be singled out as more expensive than the others.

All four models are expected to feature OLED displays and 5G support, as analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported last December.

The less-expensive 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch models reportedly will pack dual-lens rear cameras. The pricier 6.1-inch “iPhone 12 Pro” and 6.7-inch “iPhone 12 Pro Max” models likely will come with triple-lens rear cameras with a LiDAR Scanner.

Apple is expected to unveil its iPhone 12 lineup in September, according to Cult of Mac sources, although at least one model might not become available to order until later in the year.

Prosser correctly predicted the release date of the second-generation iPhone SE. He said the base pricing for the expected new iPhone 12 models were given to him “from the same source that nailed the iPhone SE launch date.”
