Defending Jacob, a new Apple TV+ murder mystery show starring Chris Evans (Captain America), debuted Friday on Apple’s streaming TV service.

The show tells the story of a small-town assistant district attorney whose family is turned upside down after his 14-year-old son is accused of murder. Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery plays Evans’ wife, while Jaeden Martell from It plays the titular Jacob.

Defending Jacob is an eight-part series based a 2012 crime drama novel written by novelist William Landay. This is Chris Evans’ first non-movie role since he starred in the Opposite Sex miniseries back in 2000. Evans is also an executive producer on the show.

The first three episodes of Defending Jacob debuted Friday. These include the (imaginatively named) “Pilot,” plus “Everything is Cool” and “Poker Faces.” One new episode will roll out every Friday for the next five weeks.

That’s not the only new content to debut on Apple TV today. Feature documentary The Beastie Boys Story is also available to watch. It’s directed by the celebrated director Spike Jonze. You can check out Cult of Mac‘s review here.

Unusually, Apple TV+ also debuted a new show this Wednesday. (Previously new content rolled out only on a Friday.) New kids show Fraggle Rock: Rock On from the Jim Henson Company debuted Wednesday. Additional episodes will arrive every Tuesday.

Apple TV+ cost $4.99 per month. Alternatively, if you have bought a new iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV, you get a one-year subscription thrown in for free.
