Apple TV+ has picked up the shortform adventure series Fraggle Rock: Rock On from the Jim Henson Company and in an unusual move, released the first episode Wednesday with little notice.

The new shows – lasting three to five minutes each – pick up where the 1980s series ended. Fraggle Rock was a Canadian-British-American children’s puppet television series about interconnected societies of Muppet creatures, created by Jim Henson. Henson described the Fraggle Rock series as “a high-energy, raucous musical romp. It’s a lot of silliness.”

Fraggles, Doozers, Gorgs and Silly Creatures return as regulars along with a variety of new characters.

New episodes will debut each Tuesday on Apple TV+.

Apple said the series was shot entirely using iPhone 11 devices from the homes of the production team and artists all over the United States.

The new children’s series joins a handful of other similar shows on Apple TV+, including Sesame Workshop’s Helpsters and Ghostwriter and the Peanuts cartoon, Snoopy in Space.
