Apple is now taking preorders for the 2020 iPhone SE ahead of its official debut on April 24. Prices start at just $399 for a 64GB model, making this one of the company’s most affordable smartphones to date.

Go claim yours before those shipping dates slip — and don’t miss some of the preorder deals being offered by some third-party retailers.

We had been waiting more than two years for a second-generation iPhone SE before Apple finally made its refresh official on Wednesday. The newest model is very different to its predecessors, stealing iPhone 8’s larger design instead.

It’s not just a bigger screen that makes the new iPhone SE an appealing upgrade, however. You also get a better camera, wireless charging, and Apple’s newest A13 Bionic chip — the same one that powers the iPhone 11 series.

It’s a lot of phone at an affordable price.

iPhone SE starts at $399 with 64GB of storage, while 128GB and 256GB options are also available for $449 and $549, respectively. Available color options include black, white, and (PRODUCT)RED.

The 2020 iPhone SE is compatible with all accessories made for iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, while Apple has a fresh lineup of silicone and leather cases of its own that are available to order from $35.

AppleCare+ for the new iPhone SE is priced at just $79, which is $50 less than Apple was charging for AppleCare+ for iPhone 8. It gets you additional technical support and coverage for accidental damage.

7 reasons to upgrade

Apple’s new “iPhone SE — Why Upgrade” page outlines seven reasons why its newest handset is a worthwhile purchase. They include things like a faster A13 chip, a water-resistant design, and faster Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit-class LTE.

Given all the improvements and its affordable price tag, iPhone SE is likely to be a big success. We expect initial stock to sell out fast, so if you don’t get your preorder in early, you might have to wait longer for delivery.

As things stand, all configurations in all color options are set to arrive next Friday, April 24.

Don’t miss your chance to save

Some third-party retailers are already offering tasty preorder deals for the new iPhone SE.

Best Buy is throwing in a $50 gift card, while Walmart is offering $200 off when you activate through a carrier and sign up for an installment plan, and Xfinity Mobile is offering the same for transferring your old number.
