Spyder brings a new perspective on the spy thriller. Today’s addition to the Apple Arcade subscription service features a tiny robot spider on a mission to save the great big world.
This itsy-bitsy superspy must use his gadgets to sabotage the nefarious plans of villians, requiring players see everything from a new perspective.
A little Spyder makes big trouble
Spyder is mostly about sabotage. Sumo Digital, creators of the new game, says miniature spider Agent 8 will need to “cut through panels, overload terminals, flip switches, and open valves as you scurry about sabotaging the heinous plans of evil doers.”
As a tiny bug in a big world, players will need to solve puzzles as they explore open environments.
This is a single-player adventure game for players four years old and above. And there are versions for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
Now on Apple Arcade
Sumo Digital released Spyder today on Apple Arcade, a subscription gaming service. While this costs $4.99 a month, it comes with over 100 other games. And there are no other costs. Apple bans ads, in-app purchases and loot boxes in this service.
Similar games on Apple Arcade include Secret Ops! a spy-themed augmented reality adventure. Or there’s Agent Intercept, in which players race in a slick, souped-up vehicle to foil rival secret agents.
