iPhone and iPad users can already sign up to download Quibi, the mobile-only streaming service created by former Walt Disney Studios chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Quibi was quietly posted to the App Store at the end of last month. News that it’s available for pre-order just surfaced today. You won’t be able to start streaming Quibi shows until April, but if you want to make sure you don’t miss the launch you can pre-order it now.

All you need to do to pre-order is visit Quibi’s page on the App Store using your iPhone or iPad. Tap the “Get” option, confirm the download with Face ID or Touch ID and then it will be automatically downloaded when the service launches on April 6.

Quibi prepares for the streaming wars

Unlike Apple TV+, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and the myriad of other services about to launch in 2020, Quibi offers a unique approach to consuming content. All of the shows are consumed in quick episodes that are 10 minutes or shorter.

Quibi’s ramp-up to launch has been fairly quiet but the company has some big talent backing it. Idris Elba, Chance the Rapper, Jennifer Lopez, Kristen Bell, Tracy Morgan, Andy Samberg, Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner, Zac Efron, Kiefer Sutherland, Liam Hemsworth and more are working on shows for the service.

Everything on Quibi is filmed to be viewed on a smartphone or tablet. Quibi uses some neat tricks to offer both vertical and horizontal viewing for all of its content and you can seamlessly switch between the two.

The service plans to offer original movies, TV shows, docuseries, and news. Users will be offered a free two-week trial. After that, you can subscribe for either the $5 per month tier with some ads or the $8 ad-free tier.
