Marshall’s best over-the-ear headphones finally gained active noise cancellation (ANC) with a big update that pushes the vintage-inspired cans into the modern age.

The new Monitor II ANC headphones were revealed by Marshall this morning and along with adding ANC to put them on par with AirPods Pro, the headphones also have a nifty multi-directional control knob that lets you easily control music and phone functions without touching your phone.

Active Noise Cancellation utilizes microphones on the headphones to measure ambient noise and block it out. The feature will drain your battery faster so it’s best to only use in noisy environments.

Marshall says you can expect 30 hours of battery life with ANC on and 45 hours when it’s turned off. The headphones also come with a quick charge feature that gives you 5 hours of playback time in just 15 minutes.

Retailing for $319, Marshall’s Monitor II ANC headphones come with support for Google Assistant. You can activate Google Assistant by pressing the M button on the side of the headphones. The button is also used to toggle between customized equalizer presets that you can

The sound quality on the cans is driven by custom-tuned 40mm dynamic drivers. USB-C has been added for charging. All that comes in a design that collapses down small, making the cans very travel-friendly too. Units go on sale on March 17, but you can pre-order them now on Marshall’s website.
