Charrua Soccer promises to be easy to pick up and enjoy, but also offer deep gameplay. This new addition to Apple Arcade has a retro style, harking back to classic games.
Charrua Soccer… or football. Whatever.
This isn’t a stripped-down version of soccer. Batovi Games built in short passes, long passes, aiming when shooting, player skills, fouls, and yellow and red cards. There are animations for overhead kicks, scorpion kicks, scissor kicks, diving headers, and more.
Charrua Soccer offers player vs. computer, player vs. player, and competitions. When going up against the computer, the AI will give opposing teams different playing styles, like Catenaccio from Italy and Tiki-Taka from Brazil.
Players can compete for the American Cup, European Cup, Global Cup and Women’s Global Cup. Or go really retro and enter Global Cup 1930.
Now on Apple Arcade
Charrua Soccer debuted today on Apple Arcade, a gaming subscription service that costs $4.99 a month. But there are no other costs, as ads, in-app purchases and loot boxes are banned.
Plus a subscription comes with access to over 100 other games, all of which can be played on a variety of Apple devices. Other sports titles in Apple Arcade include Ultimate Rivals: The Rink and Ballistic Baseball.
