The debut of Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet is Friday, and Apple TV+ released a sneak peek of this comedy about developers at a video game company. The actors discuss how their wildly-divergent characters create the humor in this show.

Real-world game developer Ubisoft assisted with development of this series, suggesting that some of its humor has a basis in reality.

Mythic Quest is a testament to the madness that is a video game development company,” says Rob McElhenney, who co-created the show and also stars in it as Ian Grimm.

McElhenney teamed up with Charlie Day to create this series. If those names sounds familiar, they also stared in It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Megan Ganz is the third co-creator.

Mythic Quest premiers Friday on Apple TV+

Mythic Quest was developed exclusively for Apple TV+. Its world-wide launch is scheduled for February 7 on this new streaming-video service.

There are 9 half-hour episodes in the first season. Apple has already committed to a second season of this show.

Watching the first season of Mythic Quest, as well all the other shows on Apple TV+, requires $4.99 a month subscription. But anyone who recently bought selected Apple devices can enjoy free for a year. And for everyone else, there’s a one-week free trial.
