Nebia, the eco-friendly shower head company adored by Apple CEO Tim Cook, unveiled a new version of its shower system today. Unlike the previous two generations, this one is priced to sell.

The new Nebia shower head is smaller and cheaper than previous models. Nebia launched a Kickstarter for it today, revealing the price has dropped from $499 to just $160. Now almost every home can get a Silicon Valley-style shower.

Nebia claims its new shower uses 45% less water than traditional showers. It also uses 41% less heating energy. And this new model is the hottest one the company has made yet. The Kickstarter is set to end at the end of February. After that, the Nebia price will go up to $199 (currently discounted to $160) for the overhead part of the shower, and $269 if you want it with the optional magnetic wand.

Nebia’s Tim Cook connection

Cook became an investor in Nebia back in 2015. Bloomberg shed some new light and how he got involved with the company after using an early Nebia model at a gym in Silicon Valley.

According to Nebia creator Philip Winter, Cook was drawn to the environmental aspects of the product. Cook made a “significant” investment in the company using his own money. Apple has not been involved with the startup at all.

Cook reportedly told Winter to focus on user experience, design and sustainability. He also advised Winter to find investors that were believers in the product instead of VC firms. Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt is also an investor.
