A documentary series dubbed Dear… will profile internationally recognized leaders in a unique way: each will feature letters written to the subject of the biopic by people whose lives they’ve changed. That’s the source for the name of the series, which is headed for Apple TV+ in a few months.

Apple TV+’s Dear… produced by an expert

Apple says that there will be episodes about Oprah Winfrey, Gloria Steinem, Spike Lee, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Yara Shahidi, Stevie Wonder, Aly Raisman, Misty Copeland, Big Bird and more.

Dear… was inspired by the Dear Apple spots in which customers read real letters sent to the company after the Apple Watch inspired them to lead healthier lives.

The collection of Apple TV+ biographies will be executive produced by Emmy and Peabody Award winner R.J. Cutler (The September Issue and Untitled Billie Eilish Documentary).

Debuting this spring

The series is scheduled to premiere globally this spring on Apple TV+. Watching them will require a $4.99-per-month subscription to this streaming video service.

Biographies are a strong category on Apple TV+. Also coming this spring is a biography of the Beastie Boys written and directed by Spike Jonze. And Little America examines the lives of US immigrants.
