Makes a Mac mini like a mini workstation

The Mac Mini has a beautiful, minimalist design, which is great until you want to plug in a thumbdrive, or maybe a camera. Then ports you can easily reach would be welcome.

That’s where Satechi’s new stand and hub comes in. Place this underneath the macOS computer to add a front-facing USB-C data port, a trio of USB 3.0 Type-A ports, microSD and SD card readers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Of course, the Mac mini already has multiple USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 and USB-A ports, and a headphone jack. But these all face the back, where they are hard to get to. This hub is designed add easily-accessible versions.

And it doesn’t stop there. This accessory is equipped with built-in air vents to help regulate temperature and encourage airflow when connecting multiple devices to Apple’s tiny desktop.

The Satechi Type-C Aluminum Stand & Hub for Mac mini debuted today for $79.99.

Because this peripheral connects to the computer via USB-C, it’s only compatible with the 2018 version of this small computer.
