Serif just delivered its latest Affinity app for Mac and PC — and it looks like an essential purchase for publishers.

Affinity Publisher is a professional desktop publishing client that has Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo baked-in for seamless vector design and image editing. It’s packed full of other useful features, too, and it won’t break the bank.

Serif’s Mac and iOS apps have quickly become some of the best for designers and photo editors. They compete with high-end tools by offering expansive feature sets, and they’re available at a fraction of the cost.

The latest addition to the lineup is no different.

Affinity Publisher puts everything at your fingertips

Affinity Publisher gives you the ability to create stunning publications — whatever your project. Serif calls it “the next generation of professional publishing software.”

You’ll find all the features you’d expect to see in a desktop publishing app, like master pages, facing page spreads, grids, tables and advanced typography. It supports double-page spreads, image frames with scaling options, text wrapping with fine padding control, custom-shaped text frames and more.

These are just some of the powerful features you get with Affinity Publisher. But what makes it really special is Serif’s new StudioLink technology, which lets you link directly to other Affinity apps and use them inside Publisher.

Serif StudioLink changes the game

That means you can bring Affinity Designer’s excellent vector tools and Affinity Photo’s impressive photo editing features into Publisher and use them without ever having to leave the app.

“It’s the most fluid workflow ever conceived in a creative suite of applications, and the reason we named our apps Affinity,” Serif explains.

You will also be able to open Publisher documents inside Designer and Photo on iPad. However, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer for a complete Publisher app for iOS.

No subscription necessary

Affinity Publisher is available today for a one-time fee of $40. That’s with a limited-time launch discount of 20%. Once you’ve bought the app, Affinity Publisher is yours to keep — there is no subscription model.

You will need to pick up Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo separately if you want to use them with StudioLink.
