Apple is yet to confirm this year’s “iPhone 11” lineup, but that hasn’t stopped some companies from releasing new accessories months in advance. One is a tempered glass camera protector that makes way for three lenses.
Olixar has a habit of releasing smartphone and tablet accessories early. That might seem like a terrible idea — when designs are yet to be confirmed it’s risky investing in new products for them — but it is usually right on the money.
In the past Olixar has released cases for the Galaxy S10, iPhone XS and XS Max, the OnePlus 7 Pro, and a whole bunch of other devices long before their official unveiling. And its designs turned out to be completely accurate.
We have high hopes for its new “iPhone 11” camera protectors, then.
Protect your iPhone 11’s camera from day one
These tempered glass add-ons promise to protect the cameras on Apple’s upcoming handsets with “toughness and superb clarity.” What’s really interesting about them is that they don’t just cover two lenses.
Olixar seems to have confirmed reports that the next-generation iPhone lineup will offer three rear-facing cameras, arranged in a rather odd triangular formation. They are set to be flanked by an LED flash and microphone.
There’s nothing too surprising here; we’ve been hearing for months now that Apple’s flagship smartphones for 2019 will feature three cameras. But the fact that Olixar has bought into that adds a little more strength to the rumors.
Olixar is also offering camera protectors for the entry-level “iPhone XR.” Sadly, those all but confirm that model will have just two rear-facing cameras — but that’s still one more than in last year’s iPhone XR.
