Apple made the iPhone water-resistant years ago, but the iPad lineup is yet to get the same treatment. If you have a real urge to take yours swimming despite this, you need the new rugged case from Catalyst.

With an IP68 rating, the Catalyst case protects your iPad Pro in water more than six-feet deep. It also offers military-grade drop protection.

Smartphones are certainly more susceptible to water damage than tablets. But there are plenty of legitimate reasons why you might want to use your iPad near water — especially when you’re on vacation.

A number of accessory makers offer water-resistant iPad cases for this reason, but few support the latest iPad Pro lineup. Catalyst is here to change that.

Catalyst can water-proof your iPad Pro

Catalyst’s new, aptly-named Waterproof Case is available for both the 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro released in 2018. It promises “exceptional performance” and vows to keep your device protected in depths of up to 6.6 feet (two meters).

And that’s not all. The case’s rugged design, which features a rubber bumper, acoustic membranes, and integrated screen protector, also provides drop protection from up to four feet.

Despite all this, the Waterproof Case isn’t overly big and bulky, and it won’t completely ruin the gorgeous design of your iPad. Transparent panels on its front and back let you continue to enjoy its clean aluminum shell.

The Waterproof Case also boasts four lanyard attachments, and a “hard coated optical lens” that will help you take better photos underwater. It provides easy access to all ports, and ships with an adjustable stand.

All of this is going to cost you, though. Catalyst has priced the 11-inch model at $149.99, while the 12.9-inch version will cost you $169.99. They might be pricey, then, but they’re a lot cheaper than fixing a water-damaged iPad.
