Hundreds of Apple Watches were reportedly stolen from an Amazon warehouse. And the thieves didn’t have to break in to carry out their caper — they worked there.

The Middletown, Delaware, Police Department says they were contacted by Amazon Loss Prevention about four employees of a company Fulfillment Center. The group is accused of making off with over $100,000 worth of Apple’s popular wearable.

Police were able to recover some of the stolen Apple Watches. A photograph taken shows the merchandise.

Taneesha Pinkett, Tyaisha Butler and Isaac Francis were arraigned on charges of theft and second-degree conspiracy. The fourth suspect, Shadaria Bell, has fled.

Criminals prefer Apple

Apple products are often the targets for criminals. They are often expensive and quite popular, likely making them easy to fence.

At least these four Amazon employees were circumspect about it. Some gangs have resorted to just grabbing computers off the counters of Apple stores and running away with them.
