Canadian rapper Drake reportedly spent $400,000 to have a case for his iPhone X covered in diamonds and white gold.

Drake is known to have a thing for bling, but this one appears off the charts. The case is 18k white gold and is covered with small blue diamonds. In the center is a white gold owl, the logo for his record company, with two big diamonds for eyes.

Cult of Mac readers are often treated to stories on customized Apple products, especially iPhones and Apple Watches. Brands like Russia’s Caviar, gold plate, etch and affix precious gems to devices that sell for thousands of dollars.

The jeweler commissioned by Drake to make the iPhone case posted pictures to his Instagram account, which got the notice of the New York Post’s Page Six Style section.

“Because we can’t do basic! Diamond iPhone cover for our friend @champagnepapi,” the jewelry wrote on the Instagram post.

Jason of Beverly Hills, the jeweler entrusted with the encrusted case, is familiar with Drake’s taste for luxury accessories.

Last year, Drake hired Jason to create an owl pendant with a kilo of gold and more than 100 carats of Asscher cut diamonds.

Drake albums tend to go platinum in a day and his music has broken several streaming records, including Apple Music, where last year’s Scorpion exceeded 170 million streams in the first 24 hours.
