Satechi just launched an aluminum iMac stand with a built-in USB-C hub. Not only will it give your computer some additional height, it makes it much easier to connect a variety of external peripherals.

The iMac comes with multiple built-in USB ports, but the ones in this hub are easier to access.

The stand is made of brushed aluminum. It’s available in silver or space grey to match the computer.

A 7-port USB-C hub

On the front of the Satechi Type-C Aluminium Monitor Stand Hub are three USB-A ports, a USB-C port, an SD card reader, a micro-SD card reader, and a headphone jack.

The USB-A ports uses USB 3.0 and can transfer data at up to 5 Gbps. The memory card slots support UHS-I and so have a maximum data transfer speed of 104 Mbps. The USB-C port is only for data; charging through this port is not possible. It maxes out at 5 Gbps.

The hub comes with a built-in USB-C cable to connect to the iMac Pro and 2017 iMac models. Satechi includes a USB-C to USB-A adapter for use with 2016 and older models.

The Satechi Type-C Aluminium Monitor Stand Hub just debuted today at $89.99.

If aluminum isn’t really your thing, consider a wooden iMac stand instead.
