Urban Armor Gear created its new Metropolis case for people who take the 2018 iPad Pro to more than offices and coffee shops.
This rugged case protects the tablet from drops and impacts, plus it includes a stand and an Apple Pencil holder.
UAG’s iPad Pro case is rugged
“The Metropolis Series provides maximum protection, without adding unnecessary bulk — allowing you take on daily tasks from anywhere,” said Kaila Vandermey, UAG Marketing Manager.
This Urban Armor Gear case conforms to the military drop-test standard MIL STD 810G-516.6). This means UAG repeatedly dropped the case a distance of 4 feet onto 2 inches of plywood over concrete. The case is dropped 26 times: 6 times on its face, 8 times on the corners, and 12 times on the edges. Passing this test requires that the device inside not be damaged.
To help prevent drops, the exterior of the Metropolis includes a tactile grip. However, this case doesn’t offer protection from liquids or heat/cold.
Other features of the UAG Metropolis iPad Pro case
The front cover folds down to form an adjustable stand. And, unlike some cases for Apple’s latest tablet, there’s a slot that both holds the Apple Pencil 2 and allows it to wirelessly charge from the iPad.

The Metropolis case gives easy access to the iPad Pro touchscreen and USB-C port, while not blocking the camera or speakers.
It’s available in black, magma (red) and cobalt (red). The version for the latest 12.9-inch iPad Pro is $89.95, while the 11-inch version is $59.95. Both are available now on the Urban Armor Gear website.
