The Symmetry Series 360 just became the first OtterBox case released for the newest iPad Pro. This isn’t one of the super-rugged cases this company is best known for, but it brings some protection without adding a lot of bulk.
A bulkier OtterBox Defender case promising even greater shelter for the latest iOS tablet was announced a few weeks ago but is not yet available.
OtterBox Symmetry Series 360 for 2018 iPad Pro
“Symmetry Series 360 safeguards iPad Pro (11-inch) and iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (3rd Gen) in a thin, protective case so you can take it wherever you go,” wrote OtterBox CEO Jim Parke in a statement.
This is a case designed for home or office, not to take to the job site or a campground. It provides moderate drop and shock protection, but its creator explicitly states that this case does nothing about liquids.
A flap folds over the display to guard against scuffs and scratches, and this can be folded into a stand during use. The back of the Symmetry Series 360 is clear to show off the iPad Pro. The flap and sides of the case are available in grey (After Dark) or black (Starry Night).
OtterBox Defender Series for 2018 iPad Pro
The more rugged Defender Series case for the 2018 iPad Pro offers three layers of protection. There’s an outer slipcover and hard shell to absorb shock. A built-in screen protector helps keep the display safe, while a small door keeps dust and debris out of USB-C port. An included shield stand adds another layer of defense, and acts as a stand while in use.
When available, the 12.9-inch version of the OtterBox Defender Series will sell for $129.95, and the 11-inch one will be $89.95.
