The good news is that Apple just significantly cut the official price of BeatsX wireless headphones. The bad news is that half the color options also just went away.

These in-ear headphones compete with Apple’s own AirPods but, unlike their rivals, are permanently connected to each other.

When they launched last year, BeatsX cost $149.99. As of today, they are $119.95 on Apple’s webstore, as well as the Beats by Dre site.

Alternatively, you can buy a used pair on Amazon for much less. (affiliate link)

For comparison, AirPods sell for $159. These have held at that price since late 2016 , but then they are one of Apple’s signature products.

Reduced BeatsX options

These Beats by Dre in-ear headphones originally were available in black, white, gray, and blue. Those latter two options are no longer available.

The Cult of Mac review of these wireless headphones said, “We are mighty impressed by the big sound Apple managed to pack in such a small package. Like the AirPods, the BeatsX earbuds pack a custom W1 Bluetooth chip to pump out better performance and connectivity.”
