Pro Tip Cult of Mac bug It’s pretty easy to type the Apple logo on any of your Apple devices, although it’s easier on some (like the Mac) than on others (like Apple TV). Below is a quick list that lays out exactly how to type the Apple logo on any Apple device.

How to type  on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV

To type the Apple logo on the Mac, you just hit ⌥⇧K. Up pops the logo, just like typing any other character.

Use the Unichar app

There are two ways to type the Apple logo on your iPhone or iPad. One is to download the Unichar app, which contains, like, every Unicode character ever. Just fire it up, type “apple” into the search bar, and then copy/paste the  from the results list.

Set up an Apple logo text shortcut

The other way is to set up a text shortcut. If you’re on your Mac, go to System Preferences > Keyboard, and click the Text tab. Then click the + button to add a new shortcut.

Keyboard shortcuts are often used to replace a short phrase with a longer one. @@ can be used to type your whole email address, for example. In this case, we’ll replace something like aappl with the  symbol.

This will even work to type an Apple logo on Apple TV.

Now, whenever you type aappl (or whatever your character string is), it will automatically be replaced by the  symbol on your Apple device. And, if you set up iCloud sync to share text shortcuts, this will work across all your Apple devices.

To type the modern Apple logo on your Apple TV, just connect a Bluetooth keyboard and type the same ⌥⇧K combo as you would on the Mac.

Happy typing!
