50 Essential iOS Apps: PaprikaHave you ever decided to make dinner, only to find the recipe has gone missing. Sometimes it’s a misplaced notecard, other times, a saved (or pinned) link that is now dead. With Paprika, your favorite recipes are stored digitally, and you’re in control. As someone who cooks nearly every day, Paprika is the best recipe app for chefs of any skill level.

What is Paprika 3?

Paprika 3 is a recipe manager, grocery list, and cooking app for iPhone and iPad. It makes saving recipes quick, storing recipes convenient, and cooking a little easier. Whether you’re on and iPhone or an iPad, Paprika can do it all – minus the actual cooking and prep work.

Why it’s great

Paprika makes it easy to save recipes – both ingredients and instructions – in the app. From nearly any website with a recipe, tapping the Paprika share extension will populate the ingredient and instructions section of the app to store the recipe safely in your account. Recipes can also be tagged with categories. This makes it easy to flag a recipe as an entre or side dish, or group breakfast foods separate from desserts.

Paprika is also excellent at helping form a meal plan. With a few quick taps, you can add recipes to each meal for a day or week. From there, you can create your grocery shopping list, based on the recipes planned. This makes Paprika great for keeping you on track and ensuring that you have everything you need to cook for the day or week. A built-in “Pantry” also allows you to track things you already have in the kitchen, great for avoiding redundant purchases.

Another great feature of Paprika – especially on iPad – is that the app will keep your screen awake while you cook. This makes it ideal for using as a cooking companion, keeping you from rubbing your dirty fingers on the screen or home button. An in-app timer (supporting multiple timers) is also incredibly useful for juggling multiple dishes from different recipes.

Who it’s for

Paprika is a life saver for anyone that has had a recipe go missing – either because of a misplaced note card or a dead link online. Anyone that enjoys cooking from a recipe will also appreciate how easy Paprika makes cooking.

Bottom line: Paprika is the best recipe app

If you enjoy cooking and rely on your iPhone or iPad for following recipes or creating your grocery shopping list, you need Paprika.
