If you’re on the lookout for a new iPhone with 3.5mm headphone jack, your dream may be answered with the upcoming iPhone SE 2.

Despite a previous report stating that Apple would ditch the popular port for the new handset, photos circulating on Chinese social media suggest this may not be the case after all. Whether that’s a good thing or not will largely depend on whether you’re still mourning the arrival of earbuds with a Lightning connection!

And that’s not the only surprise…

The photos reveal one other big change: a glass back that would allow wireless charging.

This feature, introduced with 2017’s flagship iPhones, received a warm reception from users. The new iPhone SE design will apparently scrap the iPhone 5-style aluminum unibody back in favor of a shiny glass back panel. This would allow it to juice up using any Qi charging pad on the market. Other changes in new iPhone SE 2

Other than this change, the updated iPhone SE is also expected to boast a faster A10 Fusion processor. According to rumors, the new entry-level iPhone will make its debut next month.

As always, it’s worth taking these photos with a pinch of salt (or, at least, silicon). Photos circulating on social media could come directly from leakers that work for iPhone manufacturers. Or they could turn out to be total fakes.

Still, if you’re pining after your O.G. headphone jack, there’s at least a glimmer of hope on the horizon!

Would you be happy to see a new iPhone with 3.5mm headphone jack? Were you initially sad to see the death of the headphone jack, but now can’t imagine life with it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
