Epic Games is now rolling out its latest Fortnite patch, adding new weapons, new game modes, and more. There are big improvements for those who play on iOS, too — including the addition of party text chat and a whole host of bug fixes.

Epic’s regular updates keep Fortnite feeling fresh. There’s always something new to look forward, which ensures players keep coming back. It’s one of the things that has made the game so popular. The latest patch, version 3.4, is a big one.

Fortnite version 3.4 is rolling out now

Players can now enjoy the guided missile in battle royale mode, and there’s an improved, limited-time Sniper Shootout game mode, in which you can now use the hunting rifle and crossbow. The boogie bomb is back after being fixed, and an egg launche replaces the grenade launcher for Easter.

The option to play at 30 frames-per-second has been removed on console. Epic has made significant graphical improvements to the 60 frames-per-second option; it’s now so good that there is no need for anything else. Cross-platform play has also been improved.

Big improvements on iOS

On iOS, Fortnite now supports text party chat, but there is no in-game voice chat just yet. Anti-aliasing at 4X is now supported on all devices, and there’s a new update system that prevents you from having to download massive packages from the App Store every time there’s a change.

Epic has added a warning for those who attempt to play on unsupported or jailbroken devices. It has also ironed out a whole host of early issues with the virtual controls, gameplay, and more. iPhone X users should find that the game is now noticable faster when loading.
