Hot, and classic: Apple's new leather MacBook sleeves.

You might not have managed to score an iPhone X pre-order that arrives before Christmas, but you can go and get another brand-new Apple product right away — the Leather Sleeve for 12‑inch MacBook, in one of two beautiful colors.

Beautiful sleeves don’t come cheap

The sleeve is a typical Apple case. It appears beautifully made, and has an absurd price tag. Our own Luke Dormehl refuses to get any kind of cover for his 13-inch iPad Pro because the Apple Smart Cover costs $59, which is pretty outrageous for a simple piece of plastic. So don’t any of you tell him about the new leather MacBook sleeve, which comes in at a wallet-sucking $150.

The case is fashioned from “European” leather, and comes in either saddle brown or midnight blue. Then interior is lined with microfiber, and the design allows you to plug the charger into its lone USB-C port without removing the MacBook from the case.

And that’s all there is to say about it. It’s probably a beautiful case, and weigh next to nothing. But it’s not cheap.

Price: $149
