Apple has begun shipping early orders for the iPhone 8, Apple Watch Series 3, and Apple TV 4K. All three devices were made available to pre-order on Friday, September 15, and they’re scheduled to reach customers on September 22.

Apple started updating the status for pre-orders over the weekend, with many customers noticing theirs had changed from “Processing” to “Preparing for Shipment.” The next stage will be “Shipped” before these devices finally get delivered.

Customers are yet to see that “Shipped” status just yet, but those with a UPS My Choice account have begun receiving notifications to confirm that their orders are now in transit. Apple is expected to issue its own shipping notifications soon.

If you think this means you might get your new gadgets early, think again. Apple works closely with its distribution partners to ensure that new devices do not get delivered before their official launch dates. Occasionally, a few will slip through the net, but it’s uncommon.

Even those who are able to track their orders already will see an expected delivery date of Friday, September 22.

It seems Apple Watch Series 3 and Apple TV 4K units are being shipped from directly China — as pre-orders often do — but many are reporting that their iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus orders are being shipped from Pennsylvania.

Shipping times for the iPhone 8 have now slipped, with minimum wait times sitting at 1-2 weeks. However, these devices haven’t sold out anywhere near as quickly as their predecessors, which means you should be able to pick on up from an Apple store on Friday relatively easily.

As of Sunday night in the U.K., it was still possible to order an iPhone 8 with 64GB of storage for delivery on September 22. Shipping times didn’t slip until Monday morning — three days after pre-orders opened.

This indicates that a big number of customers are waiting for iPhone X instead, which will be available to order on October 27 before it makes its official debut on November 3.

It’s still possible to order some Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS only) units with September 22 delivery. However, the LTE models appear to have all sold out now, with most configurations unavailable for shipping for 3-4 weeks.

Apple TV 4K has also sold out, with the more expensive 64GB seemingly more popular than the 32GB model. You’ll be waiting until at least October to get your hands on the set-top box now, unless you can find one in an Apple store on Friday.
