We finally got our hands on Apple’s new 10.5-inch iPad Pro, which just landed in Apple stores today. Our unboxing video will show you all the ins and outs of the new tablet. Take a look at the packaging, what’s in the box and the device itself before you rush out and pick one up.

10.5-inch iPad Pro unboxing: What’s in that box?

The box and packaging of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro look pretty much standard for Apple. You’ll see a 1:1 scale picture of the device on the front, with spec details on the back.

Crack open the box and you’ll find the tablet along with the usual warranty info, quick-start guides, Apple stickers, Lightning cable and power adapter.

At first glance, you’d be hard-pressed to tell the 10.5-inch iPad Pro apart from last year’s 9.7-inch model. The only real giveaway is the size — especially with the space gray model (it’s black face hides the new, thinner bezels). The new iPad Pro’s screen resolution is 1668 x 2224 pixels, yielding 265ppi.

The increased screen size is a welcome upgrade. Thanks to those smaller bezels, the screen-to-body ratio has been improved from the 9.7-inch model’s 71.6 percent to 78.3 percent. Keeping a small footprint but increasing the size of the display means it’s a much more practical offering than the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

What’s new?

The slightly larger 10.5-inch Apple tablet is only 4.6mm wider than last year’s model and is 10.6mm taller, but thankfully remains the same depth.

Other improvements include an improved rear camera, which brings an f-stop of 1.8 and a quad-LED flash, both of which mean better low-light performance.

Apple also added an upgraded 7MP FaceTime camera. Inside, Apple’s faster A10X Fusion chip powers the new 10.5-inch tablet, fueled by a 30.4Wh battery that’s slightly larger than last year’s

The 10.5-inch iPad Pro is on sale now. Prices start at $649 for the 64GB Wi-Fi version as seen in the video, going up to $1,079 for 512GB Wi-Fi and cellular model.
