We couldn’t wait to get our hands on a new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and rip it out of its slick package. Check out our red iPhone unboxing video below to see what’s inside and get our first impressions of Apple’s latest device.

The only thing new about the red iPhone 7 is that bright and colorful body. Internally, the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 is identical to those that have been on sale for the best part of six months. (If you’ve been stuck under a rock, you can check out our full review of the iPhone 7.)

The color does look beautiful on the new iPhone. It will definitely help you stand out in a sea of black, silver and gold iPhones (if that’s your thing). If you’ve ever owned, or even just seen, a (PRODUCT)RED iPod, you’ll know how vivid the color and finish is.

Most importantly, this gets me excited about the possibility of seeing other colors coming from Apple in the future for the iPhone. I personally would love to see a blue version. I think it would look stunning.

As my colleague Killian recently argued in this week’s edition of Friday Night Fights, I agree that this is a strange time to release a new version of Apple’s existing phone. Particularly since the iPhone 8 is slated to be released this coming September.
