A few weeks ago, I found myself at the local Apple Store chatting to a sales associate who was demonstrating the SteelSeries Nimbus gaming controller. I had a quick go at the controls only to find myself duly impressed by the way it works as an Apple TV gaming controller.
I was intrigued enough to take another, closer look at this gaming pad to see if it’s worth picking up. Watch the video below to see my SteelSeries Nimbus review.

The best Apple TV gaming controller
The bottom line: This Apple TV gaming controller is great. It’s well-built, fairly priced (currently $50 on Amazon), and has actually resulted in me using the Apple TV more for casual gaming.
Using a controller such as the Nimbus brings the Apple TV gaming experience a lot closer to a console experience. Once developers have created a few more console-like games, it’ll transform the Apple TV into a device you may choose over your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One once in a while.
I wouldn’t buy the SteelSeries Nimbus to use with an iPhone or iPad, but for the Apple TV, I think it is a must-have.
