Apple has unleashed a huge batch of beta updates today for all of its platforms today, including a new beta build of OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 that promises to squash more bugs and bring better performance than ever to your Mac.

Developers can download the new OS X 10.11.4 beta 3 update through the Apple Developer Center, or via the Software Update option in the Mac App Store if you already have the previous El Capitan beta installed.

Other than bug fixes and performance enhancements, OS X 10.11.4 also adds a couple of new features. The Notes app adds supports password-protected entries. Live Photos can now be viewed in Messages. Other than those two additions though, the update mostly contains under-the-hood improvements.

Apple’s release notes for the update asks developers to focus on iBooks and Photos. There’s no hints of new features, but we’ll let you know what new stuff we find once we get the new El Capitan installed.
