The internet is for porn, and so is this new app based on Popcorn Time

Popcorn Time is an open source app for Mac that allows users to stream movies from bit torrent sites that have ripped movies on them.

The tech made a huge splash, but is now sadly defunct, even while its creators still proclaim that the technology is legal.

However, some other folks thought the technology was perfect to help us all with another internet activity that a whole bunch of us still enjoy: porn.

Porn Time, based on the same code as Popcorn Time, is now available for Mac, Windows and Linux, so grab a towel and check it out.

The team at Porn Time kept wondering why Popcorn Time never had a porn section. Users on the original app’s website sure wanted one. Seeing that no one picked up the gauntlet, though, and build an app exclusively for porn movies, the team decided to give it a try.

The app allows you to browse for any porn titles on the torrent tracker that Porn Time uses (PornLeech, for now), and you can send the movis up to the, ahem, big screen using Chromecast or Airplay.

“This version we’re launching is cross platform and is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux and simultaneously we’re working on mobile versions for Android and iOS,” says the Porn Time blog post.

The mobile versions should be available in a week or so.

Porn Time is a free download and while downloading copyrighted material from bit torrent sites isn’t legal, the technology that allows you to do so may actually be.

And, as we all know, the technology that allows people to access porn is always the technology that wins.
