Phil Schiller Reveals New Retina MacBook Pros With Faster Processors And Lower Price [iPad Event]

Phil Schiller just announced Apple’s new lineup of MacBook Pros with Retina display. The new machines received beefed up graphics, processors, and RAM, but Apple has been able to drop the price on both the 13 and 15-inch models.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro is just 0.71 inches thin. Powered by 4th generation Haswell chip it comes with Iris Graphics for 90% faster graphics performance. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro gets 9 hours of iTunes movie playback on a single charge.

Apple upgraded the flash storage to PCIE storage and 3x faster Wifi. Thunderbolt 2 has also been added to the new machines. The price has been dropped on the new MacBook Pros from $1499 to $1299 on the 13-inch Retina display model with 2.4Ghz core I5 and 4GB of RAM.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro has also been updated to new 4th gen Haswell processor too and GeForece GT 750M graphics. Battery life has been bumped to 8-hours and it has the faster PCIE flash, Thunderbolt 2, and OS X Mavericks. For the first time, Apple is making the machine available for under $2000.
