The Grove Dock Is The Beautiful Wooden iPhone Dock You Deserve

As you guys probably know, I’m a sucker for wood on my iGadgets. My MacBook keyboard is covered in wood. My iPhone has wood paneling. Even my iPad is swatched from power button to Lightning port in a wooden smart cover and case.

Given the borderline hysteria I feel for love, it should come as no surprise that I want some wood in my iPhone dock… and Grove is about to make it happen for me.

The Grove Dock for iPhone is a gorgeous new wood dock for the iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5c and 5s that allows you to sync and charge your iPhone one-handed in a heavy bamboo base that not only looks great, but is guaranteed to not tip over.

How guaranteed? The base is made of three pounds of solid steel, over which some solidly carved bamboo has been overlaid. It’s an absolute beauty, and since you can thread both a 30-pin or Lightning connector through the base, it’ll work with any iPhone you care to throw at it.

Much as I love wood, though, I think the Grove Dock might be a little expensive for my budget, starting at $99.99. That’s a lot for a dock, especially when companies like TwelveSouth are offering docks like the HiRise which work with both the iPhone and iPad mini for $34.99. Either way, though, it’s undeniable that this is a beautifully made dock.
