It’s taken nearly five months, but Mophie has finally announced its battery case for the iPhone 5. The Mophie Juice Pack Helium for iPhone 5 contains a 1500mAh battery in a case that’s 13% slimmer than its predecessor. The pack promises to give six to seven more hours of battery life to the iPhone 5 in normal use cases. The Juice Pack Helium costs $80 while supplies last, and shipments start going out on Valentine’s Day.

Engineered with edge-to-edge protection and outfitted with 80% more battery life to keep your iPhone 5 safe and charged, the juice pack helium allows you to truly Do more™. Its elegant, thin design makes it the perfect accessory, easily fitting into any pocket or handbag. The enhanced forward-ported acoustics redirects the iPhone audio towards you, optimizing playback and maximizing your experience.

That's a lot more juice.

The case is designed for the iPhone 5’s Lightning connector. It features a stand-by switch and LED indicator for the battery. The pack is recharged via USB. Mophie promises an additional six hours of talk/surf time over 3G/LTE and seven hours on WiFi. Audio playback lasts up to 30 hours and video up to seven hours.

There are two color options: dark and sliver. The dark model ships out on February 14th, and the silver model won’t ship until early next month.

We saw some third-party battery cases for the iPhone 5 at CES, but everyone has been waiting to see what Mophie has up its sleeve. This looks like a solid pack. We’ll have a full review soon.
