Just a short drive away from Apple Headquarters in Cupertino, Apple has been working on a new store in Palo Alto that is said to be a “prototype” Apple Store. The new Apple Store will have its grand opening on October 27th at 10AM.

Last year it was reported that the Palo Alto store will feature some unique open architecture elements. The store is supposed to be about 5,030 sq. ft and feature both a glass roof and glass walls that will allow natural light to fill the open retail space.

The new store supposedly cost around $3.15M for Apple. With it’s all-glass exterior, passers-by will be able to enjoy an unobstructed view of the store’s interior. There’s also a basement and rear mezzanine that will be used for storage space and offices.

Construction on the new store was completed this morning, and Apple sent out an email to people to alert them of the store’s grand opening. The first 1,000 people through the door will get a free commemorative t-shirt, so if you’re in the area you might as well swing by and get some free Apple swag.
