‘Une Bobine,’ A Handy Bendy iPhone-Holding Snake

Ugh. Windows

You know those awful bendable lamps that coil from your computer’s long-suffering USB port and let you point the cold, bluish-green LED light in any direction except the one you want? Well, somebody took one of these silvery snakes, improved it, turned it into an iPhone charger and gave it a ridiculous name: The Une Bobine. It’s probably French or something.

The Une Bobine appears to be a lot better made than those crappy dime-store lamps, and in addition to charging your iPhone it also lets you place it at a handy angle for viewing it while you are at your computer. Given that my phone use when working consists of hearing it ring, finding my bag, rummaging in that bag and then giving up when it rings off, this might be the ideal gadget just to stop me missing calls.

On the other hand, I don’t own an iPhone, so maybe not.

Should you want to pick one up, head over to Kickstarter and make your pitch. The oddly specific $9,800 goal has already been blown past (current total: $80,000) with 25 days left on the clock, so adding your own $25 should hopefully guarantee a unit.

Oh, and if you must know, Une Bobine apparently means “A Coil.”
